Bucs Stun Falcons, Evans & Godwin Record Games

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Atlanta Falcons On Sunday Afternoon 35-22.

Vita Vea turned receiver to haul in his first career touchdown, one of three scoring throws by Jameis Winston as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last place in the NFC South with a 35-22 rout of the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

Despite two early interceptions by Bucs QB Jameis Winston, this time it didn’t come back to haunt the Bucs as the defense from the days of old has returned.

Winston shook off two more interceptions to post his sixth straight 300-yard passing game, leading the Buccaneers (4-7) to just their second victory in the last seven games.

Winston has been picked off an NFL-high 20 times but completed 18 of 28 for 313 yards, including a pair of touchdown passes to Chris Godwin. Winston finished with a stat line of 18/28 318 yards passing and 3/2 TD-INT ratio.

Both Chris Godwin & Mike Evans had career days as both receivers reach 1,000 yard seasons. Godwin finished with 7 catches, 184 yards & 2 Touchdowns. Mike Evans had 4 catches for 50 yards

Buccaneers Rookie Linebacker Devin White got 2 sacks, CB Sean Murphy-Bunting lead the game with tackles, Jamel Dean & Carlton Davis stood up and held the Falcons WR’s in check all game, Davis with a huge Interception.

This Buccaneers defense stood up tall against the Falcons, several chances to have a six turnover game many questionable calls by the officials cost the Bucs Safety Mike Edwards a pick six and two interceptions due to missed calls.

But, in general this is the best the Buccaneers have looked in a long time defending the pass and run game today, and wonder if something has clicked in the locker room to change this team and our season around.

Bucs will be in Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars next Sunday in hopes to continue the winning streak, and end the season atleast 7-9 wins to give us hope for the 2020 season.
