The next Buccaneers matchup is a showdown in the sunshine state as they travel to Jacksonville to face the Jaguars.
In 2017, the Bucs did a joint practice with the Jaguars since then both rosters have of course changed. Buccaneers defeated Atlanta last week while the Jaguars fell to the Tennessee Titans.
The quarterback is now Nick Foles who is coming back from his collarbone injury a few weeks back. For Buccaneers fans, the name Nick Foles probably rings a negative tone.
For the record though, Buccaneers beat Foles when he was on the Eagles last season, Ryan Fitzpatrick was the starter for Tampa Bay at the time.
The Jaguars quarterback has I guess you could say a history of winning the Bucs in the starts he’s made. According to an article in 2018 before Foles faced Tampa.
Foles came into the game with a “117.7” passing rating. A good statistic is that the Buccaneers have sacked Foles quite a few times.
Next, let’s talk about the running backs for a second. The Jaguars running back is Leonard Fournette who was a top pick in 2017.
Fortunately Fournette has been held in check lately not even reaching 100 yards.
Last week the Jaguars had to contend with
Derrick Henry and he ran right over them. Hopefully Buccaneers watch some film on what to do right there.
I think the Buccaneers will beat the Jaguars. Jaguars actually enter as a one point favorite over the Buccaneers but anything can happen.
I think Leonard Fornette will have a good game but since the Jaguars made all of those moves on defense, Buccaneers win in a close one.
This game against the Jaguars could be a “trap game” for the Buccaneers as in recent trips to Jacksonville the Bucs have left with a loss each time in both preseason & regular season matchups.
